For a whole week during the October school holidays in and around Wellington Scouts are to be immersed in the natural environment world exploring conservation, biodiversity and sustainability issues and activities.

You will learn about and undertake predator free initiatives including trapping management, bird counting, wetland restoration, pest plants surveying and eradication and much more. Visits will include Zealandia eco-sanctuary, Te Taiao at Te Papa, an offshore island and other locations with conservation projects.

Attendee Eligibility:  Must be an invested Scout by the start of the School and completed their Bronze Scout Award. The Scout ideally should have undertaken a minimum 6 nights camping in the Scout section. They must have the approval of their Parents or Guardians, Youth leadership Team and Scout Leader.

Cost: TBC – provisionally $550 which includes accommodation, food, & materials. Transport to and from Wellington is additional.

Dates: 4th to 11th October 2020 (second week of the holidays)
