Scouts New Zealand Jamboree

Scouts New Zealand Jamboree

Hosted in New Zealand every three years, the locations of Jamboree alternate between the North and South Islands.  This year’s jamboree was in Mystery Creek, south of Hamilton from 28th December to 7th January. Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders from all over New Zealand were joined by international scouts from 17 different countries.

Over those eleven days tents became home and strangers became friends.

But time spent in tents was brief for the 3443 Scouts and 1500 adults as there was a plethora of activities to take part in, including abseiling, rock climbing, quad biking and a boat load of water activities.

As per every Jamboree, leftover food gets donated to a local charity. This Jamboree excess food went to Kaivolution.  As well as this, 110kgs of bread tags were donated to Bread Tags for Wheelchairs NZ and $5000 was raised for the Australian Bushfire Relief
