Usually held to coincide with Founder’s Day weekend, mudslides are hosted by Groups and Zones across the country. They are a great day for the whole family and a chance for the public to come along and see what Scouts is all about.
Every year on 22 February we recognise the birthday of our Founder, Lord Baden-Powell, as well as celebrate the lasting legacy of the Scout Movement. For over 100 years, young people have been taught life and leadership skills to improve their local communities and create a better world!
Youth from all over New Zealand, Australia and further afield came together for ten days of action-packed fun from 29th Dec to 8th January.
From the 7th -19th January, 70 students descended upon Matamata for the 56th Walsh Memorial Scout Flying School.
Held over the summer break, we had another hugely successful Canoe School this year. 16 Scouts and Venturers, plus four adults, spent a week paddling the Whanganui River (approximately 125kms!).
Our current Board is ambitious and is seeking a dynamic individual to support the evolution of
the Scouting Movement in Aotearoa and contribute to a new phase of strategic development
and growth.

More than 40 Christchurch Cubs recently enjoyed a two night leadership camp at Omaka – the first zone-wide leadership camp in four years.
The Greater Christchurch sub-territory held its annual Kon Tiki Raft Race over the weekend. 12 teams of 4-8 Scouts competed against each other to take home the coveted trophy.
